1. 1. The service

   Both Sides provides BaZi (Four Pillars of Destiny) chart calculations and readings, I Ching castings, tarot spreads, Western astrology charts, daily forecasts, compatibility readings, and educational content (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. 2. Eligibility

   You must be at least 16 years old to use Both Sides. By using the Service you confirm that you meet this requirement. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

3. 3. Entertainment purposes only

   This is the section that matters most, so it gets its own heading: everything on Both Sides — every chart, reading, forecast, casting, and article — is provided for entertainment and self-reflection purposes only.

   BaZi, the I Ching, tarot, and astrology are pattern-reading and symbolic traditions. We present them faithfully and we take the craft seriously, but we make no claim that the Service has real predictive power over your life, relationships, health, or finances. Treat a reading the way you'd treat a good question from a thoughtful friend: worth reflecting on, never a substitute for your own judgment.

4. 4. No professional advice

   Nothing in the Service constitutes medical, psychological, financial, or legal advice, and no reading should be relied on to make decisions about health, money, work, relationships, or legal matters. For those, consult a licensed professional. If you are struggling with your mental health, please reach out to a qualified provider or a local crisis line — not an oracle.

5. 5. Intellectual property

   The Service — including its design, code, and all chart interpretations, readings, and articles — is our original work and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. The underlying systems (BaZi, the I Ching, tarot, astrology) belong to no one and everyone; our explanations of them belong to us.

   You may share your own readings and screenshots for personal, non-commercial use with attribution. You may not scrape, republish, or build a competing service on our content.

6. 6. Subscriptions and payments

   Core tools — the BaZi calculator, Day Master lookup, and daily forecast — are free. We plan to introduce paid subscriptions for deeper readings and advanced features. When payments launch, they will be processed by Paddle as our Merchant of Record, meaning Paddle handles billing, taxes, and refunds under its own terms, which will be presented at checkout. Subscription terms, pricing, and cancellation rights will be published before any charge is ever made, and you will be able to cancel at any time.

7. 7. Acceptable use

   Don't misuse the Service: no scraping, no attempting to disrupt or reverse-engineer it, no unlawful use, and no presenting readings as professional advice to others. We may restrict access for abuse.

8. 8. Limitation of liability

   The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including decisions you make based on a reading — arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or, if you paid nothing, zero. Nothing in this section limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. 9. Changes to these terms

   We may update these terms as the product evolves — for example, when subscriptions launch. We'll post the new version here, update the date above, and give reasonable notice in the app for material changes. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the new terms.
